Field deployment
NOTE: The video is not deployed the fastest intentionally. It is meant for the user to be able to observe everything in-detail. (Field deployment Stribog UAS + Operator outpost.mp4)
Together with the video above, we recommend following order of actions listed below in order to takeoff as quickly as possible in the real-life scenario (for keeping it brief, mind following abbreviations: OP BP = operator backpack; UAV PKG = UAV packaging):
Take out the GCS radio module from OP BP.
Put on battery.
Screw on Omni-directional antenna.
Screw on cable for the panel antenna (you do not need to attach the panel antenna now).
Turn the GCS radio module on and leave it on the ground.
Take out the UAV from UAV PKG.
Attach legs.
Put off the main camera payload cap.
Attach antennas.
Unfold arms
Spread propellers.
Attach batteries.
Attach interceptor detection module.
Turn on the UAV and place it on desired takeoff position.
Start preparing operator workplace.
Unfold the tripod.
Attach the panel antenna to it.
Attach the GCS radio module holder to the tripod.
Attach the GCS radio module on the holder.
Connect the cable from GCS radio module to the panel antenna.
Open and turn on the operator Getac laptop.
Input the password and touch (attach if detached) the hardware security key. GCS software will open automatically.
Turn on the Radiomaster Zorro controller.
Connect Radiomaster Zorro controller to the Getac Laptop.
Put the controller and the laptop to it's final desired position.
Prepare final positioning.
Unpack the ethernet cable and keep it on you.
Put the tripod on desired position (and orientation).
Connect the ethernet cable to the GCS radio module.
Run back to the position you selected for your Getac operator laptop.
Connect the ethernet cable to the Getac operator laptop.
If there are no unexpected issues, you will be able to take off at this point.
Next section to be reviewed is how to operate the UAV via Nexus GCS and review Before flight procedures. For operating the Nexus GCS please review this section Flying with Stribog UAS.
