Camera/gimbal controls
Camera and gimbal controls are accessible from both the operator view and the full-screen video feed, depending on the drone system and payload configuration. These tools enable precise visual targeting and situational awareness.
Available Functions
Reorient Camera Forward
Instantly aligns the camera with the drone’s current heading, regardless of its previous orientation.
Mark POIs in Video Feed
Tap to drop Point of Interest (POI) markers directly within the live video. These are automatically projected onto the mission map. When integrated with Delta or TAK, POIs can be shared with connected BMS networks.
Switch EO/IR Feeds (if available)
Toggle between Electro-Optical (EO) and Infrared (IR) camera feeds for day/night or obscured visibility operations.
Pixel-Based Look At
Enables precision camera targeting by clicking on specific pixels in the video feed. The gimbal will automatically adjust to center on that location.
Zoom In/Out
Adjust the camera’s focal length to maintain visual clarity or identify targets at range.
Start Recording
Begin local recording of the video stream directly to the onboard disk.
Afterwards, the downloading or recording is described in section [Rugged Laptop - Getac -> Download recordings from UAV]
Accessing Controls
In the Operator View, camera controls are available when the video feed is active:
Tap the Eye icon to enable the feed.
Use the Cogwheel icon in the video pane to access additional camera and gimbal commands (available options may vary by payload configuration).

In the full-screen video feed (second tab from the top), the controls are accessible at the bottom of the screen.

Mark POIs via the video feed
To mark a Point of Interest (POI):
Click directly on the object in the live video feed — available in both Operator View and Full-Screen View.
Once marked, the POI appears in both the video feed and on the mission map.
After placing a POI, the following actions are available:
Look At – Reorient the camera or sensor toward the POI.
Go To – Direct the unmanned system to navigate to the POI.
Share – Transmit the POI to a connected BMS via Delta or TAK integration (if available).
Use this feature to quickly designate and act on visual targets, terrain features, or other mission-relevant objects in real time.
