Description

This expansion board extends the functionality of the HEDGEHOG autopilot by adding additional communication and I/O capabilities. It connects directly via board-to-board connectors, ensuring a compact and reliable integration with the main unit.

The board introduces an Ethernet interface for high-speed data communication with external systems, as well as an analog output dedicated to video transmission. This expansion enhances system flexibility while maintaining the modular design of the autopilot platform.

Power supply

WARNING - Do not exceed the maximum input voltage

Exceeding the maximum input voltage of 36 V may result in permanent damage to the device. Ensure that the input voltage remains within the specified limits at all times. Special care has to be taken if voltage transients and oscillations are present, as these may cause the maximum rating to be exceeded. This can occur in systems with high inductance, during switching events, or when using motor controllers with active braking. Appropriate suppression and protection measures must be implemented

Monitoring: Input VBAT power rail is monitored.

Power consumption:

HEDGEHOG DEFEXP board is powered through the Molex 213226-0210 connector.

It also feeds the VBAT power to the main HEDGEHOG board.
